What an IEE actually is, and isn't

An Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) can feel intimidating at first. The name alone sounds formal and even overwhelming.
But at its core, an IEE is simply this:
A second, independent look at your child's learning and development.
It is:
Conducted by qualified professionals outside of the school district
Designed to provide a clear, updated picture of your child
A tool to support better decision making
It is not:
A way to "challenge" the school
A conflict-driven process
Something only for extreme situations
In fact, the best IEE's are collaborative.
They help:
Clarify what a child needs
Strengthen the IEP process
Ensure that support is aligned and meaningful
When done well, an IEE brings clarity, not conflict.
And clarity is what helps everyone move forward.
If you'd like to know more about the IEE process and whether it's a good fit for you, please reach out. We'd be happy to help talk it through.
